Du Yoga - for Movement that Matters!
Hello, I'm Karina, and thank you for taking the time to visit Du Yoga.
Since 2018, I've had the privilege of teaching yoga across Reigate and East Surrey, welcoming people of all ages and experience levels to discover the many benefits that yoga can bring.
My love of yoga began when I was around 14 years old at the Sivananda Yoga Centre in Putney, close to where I grew up. What started as a teenage interest soon became a lifelong passion. Through college and university my practice continued at home, before evolving into Vinyasa yoga and later a much stronger Ashtanga practice.
Over time, my own practice naturally evolved again into a gentler, kinder approach that focused on listening to my body rather than pushing it. After more than 20 years of personal practice, I decided to train as a yoga teacher so I could share everything yoga has given me with others. Today I teach both adults and children and continue to enjoy learning and developing my own practice alongside my teaching.
As someone who has never been naturally flexible, I understand that yoga can sometimes feel intimidating. That's one of the reasons my teaching focuses on building strength, improving mobility and helping people move with greater confidence, rather than striving for the perfect pose. I believe yoga is about keeping our bodies active, strong and healthy while creating space in both the body and the mind through mindful movement and breathwork.
One thing you'll quickly discover in my classes is that we always practise with a smile. Because when you enjoy what you're doing, movement becomes something you look forward to, not something you feel you have to do. I believe yoga should be welcoming, supportive and enjoyable for every body.
Whether I'm teaching a gentle class, a stronger flow, a private one-to-one session, workplace yoga or a live online class, every session is thoughtfully planned to help you build strength, improve mobility and grow in confidence. I'll always offer a range of options within each pose, encouraging you to move in a way that feels right for your body, your experience and how you're feeling on the day.
The most rewarding part of teaching is seeing people grow in confidence, discover what their bodies are capable of and leave class feeling stronger, calmer and with a smile on their face.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better.
I hope our paths cross soon, and I'd love to welcome you to a class.
